Online Community

Ask and you shall receive!

Whether your need is great or small, please do not hesitate to reach out for counselling, direction, financial or emotional help.  Some helpful links and phone numbers to various Orthodox social services are listed below.  These services are not exclusive to Greeks or Orthodox peoples.  They serve all individuals and familes in need.  I have personally helped with all of these services and can attest to their philanthropy and success of serving with grace.  If you are not a person in need of these services but are looking for somewhere to volunteer your time and talent, please consider the following options:

Star Project
This is an anonymous gift program that takes place annually at Christmastime.  Founded at Prophet Elias Church by Prespytera Melanie Mentis, I branched The Star Project into The Annunciation of The Virgin Mary Cathedral in 2012 where it met great response by our generous congregation.  If you are an individual or family in need of particular items, including grocery gift cards, clothing, and other essential needs, or, if you would like to provide yourself or your child with an annonymous Christmas gift that you cannot otherwise afford, please contact me for further direction.  The Star Project serves hundreds of families in need annually, and is committed to your privacy and discretion.

Bible Studies
Here is a great way to expand your knowledge of the faith while meeting new people!  Bible studies always welcome new faces, and people of all faith backgrounds with interest in learning about Christianity.  There is no committment to continue attending, and sessions are always absolutely free, including free parking.  I have enjoyed all of the following studies at:

The Annunciation of The Virgin Mary (Panagia)
136 Sorauren Avenue, Toronto.
Dates and times:
8PM Every other Wednesday, starting October 16, 2014.
In the upstairs Church hall.

Re-Catechism at St. Demetrios Church

Matthew 7:7 â€œAsk, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
