The Crown
Oh how I've mourned for my children unkown
For the husband who'll partner with me when I'm grown
Never having my youth for his own.
Oh how I've honoured the crown of His throne
In serving my Lord as a bride for His own
Unworthy of Him, I have wept and have grown.
Devoted, I walk the path that I'm shown
A difficult path, a blessing unknown He comforts my sorrows as I make them known.
Those who are waiting understand my love
The struggle, rumours and chastity thereof. Not having a face to behold as beloved, I bow to His name and marvel at true love.
Yes He is my love, unwavering, steady He makes my heart full and He makes in me ready
The life we will share when He shows me it's time When He crowns me as his, and He crowns him as mine.
Images of Orthodox wedding crowns are not mine.
