Do You Believe in Aliens?

God tells us everything we need to know for our salvation. He tells us about demons, and to beware engagement with them. He tells us about angels, who will reach out to a select few of us in very rare and positive circumstances for our spiritual benefit. If aliens exist as alternate life forms on other dimensions or planets, we would be made known of them by God. Yet, there is no mention of aliens anywhere in The Bible nor in any other Holy writings, and Orthodoxy does not focus on them. God does however warn us not to get overly curious and has made clear that demons certainly exist. We already know the universal hierarchy of beings from Genesis. There is no alternate universe with a separate hierarchy that God left out, and there is not one thing that God has not touched on. If alien life form as you perceive it is a reality, this would be of particular importance and we would be made aware. We have been told about everything not just on earth but universally, purposely. Our God does not want to confuse us or leave us in the dark about anything. Take into account our place in the structure; we are the crown of His creation! "Made a little lower than the angels"... we are honored and honorable and above mischief. There is good reason why our Church doesn't focus on this. While many argue that the topic of aliens is not addressed anywhere in Holy writings explicitly, God also teaches implicitly. This always means that the thing implied is a thing addressed. The Bible teaches rather implicitly that the only things God created with intelligence are the angels, man, and the animals. Many argue that not everything is explained by God and that some things are intentionally ommitted. However, while not everything is detailed, not everything needs to be. What we know of God's heavenly council, for example, including that there is one, is from God (Psalms, Hebrews etc). What we know of creation, including that there is a wide variety of creatures is from God (Genesis, etc.). He tells us that there are water, land and air animals, with multiple species within each category.Black holes, stars and other points of physics are also indeed talked about in Genesis, Matthew, and more. Or do you think these ideas come from man alone? All we know is what God has told us. "For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it" (1 Timothy 6:7). There is no reason for Him to leave anything out. "There is nothing new under the sun" (Ecclesiastes 1:9). God has explained the hierarchy of His creation of the universe and His created order. Aliens are not part of it. Demons (fallen angels), however, are. Angels (and fallen angels), humans, animals, plant life, and so forth are part of His grand design. Earth, the heavens, etc. also. He explains everything from "the beginning" when "the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep", all the way until what will happen after His second coming. There is no room for us to assume something may have been left out, and I personally see no reason for such an assumption. Christians believe in "extraterrestrial" intelligent life that visits the earth - in the form of angels and fallen angels; we know there are "10k x 10k and thousands of thousands" of angelic beings (Revelations), and of course we believe in spirits, primarily, in The Spirit of God. But the term "extraterrestrial" commonly refers to those of the science fiction category, which is what I refute. Rather, as a Christian as well as personally, I believe in the aforementioned creations: The Trinity (Spirit), angels, humans, animals, nature, and unfortunately demons/the evil one. Everything falls into these categories. There is no new unexplained category. Not because I say so, but because God does not exclude anything, and because God has said so. He is Truth, remember. Only God can create and He has explained all of His creation to us, who are crowned with glory in His image and likeness. How can we search for creation outside of Him or outside of what He has told us He created? I do not believe we are made unaware of anything, especially of something that causes many people to question the very nature of The Creator Himself. So, while God does not tell us everything about everything (we are meant to seek Him afterall), He does tell us something about everything. And yet, he tells us nothing of aliens. So, are we to believe that they do not exist, or, do we classify them as demons? What do you think? Comment in our discussion group to share your views!
